Postcards: The Weather is Here, I Wish You Were Beautiful
I'm on a plane, and the only thing I'm looking forward to in a few days is seeing my parents, having a drink with my brother, making bad fantasy draft picks, and ignore than market.
Dear Fellow Expat:
“Enjoy yourself.”
That was my wife’s advice at 2:30 p.m. today at the Hyatt Coconut Creek pool and Spa.
One of my closest friends and his family had come to the Florida Republic.
We booked a cabana by the pool. It was chaos.
The kids conspired to do laps around the Lazy River for laps on end.
We had drinks.
We had more of them.
And then we watched the entire pool staff shut down the pool after a middle-aged drunk man evacuated in the pool.
After they shocked the pool and shut it down, we called it a day.
But not before we had four more laps around the Lazy River.
This lazy river offered a chance to watch the kids swim and laugh.
Me?
I stared at the clouds, watched the palm trees pass me by, and took full faith and confidence that I had no reason to worry about the markets when our Equity Momentum reading is negative.
As I look at the week ahead – and prepare to board a plane to Baltimore on Saturday night, I look at the week ahead with caution.
